A fully bilingual school in Paris

Open Sky International is a private bilingual English–French international school located just five minutes from Paris, in Boulogne-Billancourt. Open Sky International Paris has historically been a bilingual English–French nursery and primary school. A bilingual middle school was opened in September 2017, followed by the high school in September 2022.
Our mission is to provide children with the tools they need to succeed in an open and globalized world, enabling them to thrive in France, in their home country, or anywhere else in the world. Our goal is for students to achieve equal proficiency in spoken and written French and English, with your child becoming bilingual within two years at our school.

Senior leadership

Emmanuel Fayad

CEO

Son, husband, and father of teachers, Emmanuel is an entrepreneur passionate about education. After studying at business schools (Skema, ESCP) and working in IT and strategy consulting, he joined the Open Sky International project created by his wife Rose to develop it and turn it into a leading bilingual education initiative from nursery to high school.

He is responsible for the group’s development in France and abroad, for the product (educational programs), which he continuously improves in collaboration with top French and international specialists, as well as for the financial and commercial aspects.

He is committed to ensuring that Open Sky International provides its students with the best bilingual education, while also enabling them to acquire the knowledge, mindset, and openness they need to succeed in a complex and constantly changing world.

Rose Fayad

Founder & teacher

Founder of Open Sky International, Rose Fayad has always been driven by a strong conviction: bilingual education is a powerful catalyst for children’s openness and success.

A graduate of Marie and Louis Pasteur University, trained as a teacher, and CELTA-certified by the University of Cambridge, Rose first worked in the tourism and international trade sectors, where she developed a deep appreciation for intercultural exchange and dialogue between cultures. This varied professional experience enabled her to acquire strong expertise in management and communication, which she later dedicated to her true passion: education.

In 2005, she founded La Petite École Bilingue, a French-English nursery school in Paris, which in 2012 became Open Sky International. Since then, she has designed and overseen the nursery and primary academic programs, ensuring that the pedagogical approach combines academic rigor, innovation, and international openness.

Her goal is clear: to enable every student not only to develop a high level of bilingual skills, but also the curiosity, confidence, and critical thinking necessary to thrive in a complex and constantly changing world.

Yiannis Georgiou

Head of School

Yiannis Georgiou is the Head of Open Sky International Boulogne-Billancourt. With over three decades of experience in education, he embodies a rigorous yet open vision of international schooling.

A graduate in Modern Languages and International Studies (South Bank Polytechnic), Yiannis also holds an MA in Applied Linguistics and Teaching English as a Foreign Language (Christ Church College, University of Kent) as well as an MA in Educational Management (University of Nottingham). He has dedicated his career to teaching and leading high-achieving schools.

He first served as a teacher and Head of English, before becoming Senior Assistant Head at the prestigious English School of Nicosia, where he spent more than 30 years. Alongside his leadership roles, he coached generations of students in debating and public speaking, achieving success in both national and international competitions. More recently, he led The Junior & Senior School in Nicosia, first as Headteacher and then as Acting Principal.

Now at the Head of Open Sky International Boulogne-Billancourt, Yiannis brings his experience and expertise to the academic and personal growth of every student, with one clear ambition: to provide a truly world-class bilingual and international education, while nurturing critical thinking, confidence and the skills needed to thrive in a complex and ever-changing world.

Rachida Bessaha

Primary leader & teacher

Subjects taught FAL

With a rich background in language education, Rachida holds a degree in Literature and Civilisation and a PGCE. Her nearly twenty years of experience as an MFL teacher and Head of Department in London have provided her with a solid foundation in education.

Rachida values working in an international environment and cultivates an open mindset ,and sharing knowledge and inspiring others are her driving force.

Sébastien Barbosa

Primary leader & teacher

Subjects taught EAL

Sebastien is a passionate primary teacher whose international teaching journey spans 21 years, and his experience has enabled him to develop a truly global perspective. In the USA, the UAE and France, he has fostered curiosity in young learners and devised lessons that meet his students’ needs. For Sebastien, cross-cultural understanding is essential and he nurtures each child's individual potential. He creates a supportive, inclusive classroom where every student thrives and aims to help children build a strong academic foundation for future success in our interconnected world.

Alexane Sukiennik

Secondary leader & teacher

Subjects taught : French, Spanish, History and Geography

After completing a Master’s in Education in Paris and working for two years in Nice, Alexane spent ten years in London where she qualified as a teacher. In England Alexane worked in an excellent public school for nine years, initially as a teacher and then as Head of Department. Teaching is a passion and a vocation for her, and creating and providing a fulfilling environment for our students to learn is her priority.

Kevin Jackson

Secondary Class Teacher

Subjects taught English and EAL

As a dedicated teacher with an honours degree in English and Philosophy and a PGCE in teaching English, Kevin has over 20 years of teaching experience. He excels in roles that allow him to help students realise their potential and achieve success. His skills include creating lessons that enable students to perform well in examinations. Kevin wanted to come to OSI as he believed that working in the school was a fantastic opportunity for a teacher and he was excited by the possibility of contributing to its development.

Kenza Trevien

FAL Teacher

Subjects taught FAL

As a French speaker, Kenza has a technical degree in International Trade and completed a one-year work placement in Toronto, Canada, in order to obtain her diploma. She continued her studies in English, obtaining a Bachelor's degree after a teaching placement in Torquay, in a Grammar School in England. She also obtained her Master’s degree in English. She has been teaching FAL for 5 years. As a teacher, Kenza loves sharing her knowledge, giving her students self-confidence and seeing them progress.

Erwan Fayad

FAL and EAL Teacher

Erwan has been teaching FAL and EAL at primary and secondary level at Open Sky International for 4 years.

He has a CELTA qualification and enjoys teaching languages and contributing to the academic education of students through the school's programme. This is why he wanted to become a teacher.

Sharon Mullen

Primary Class Teacher

Subjects taught mathematics, science and English

Sharon has been a teacher for over 15 years with a focus on teaching lower primary classes. She completed her PGCE in Education at the University of Sunderland and has taught in primary schools across China and Hong Kong before relocating to France. Sharon has been a part of the Open Sky International team for the past two years. What she loves most about her role is the opportunity to inspire young minds and create a positive learning environment. Her passion for teaching stems from a deep desire to help children reach their full potential.

Liza Garbatsky

Primary Class Teacher

Liza has been teaching at Open Sky International for eight years. She is a teacher who passes on knowledge with passion and loves to help her students make progress. Liza has been teaching for more than twenty years, and with her experience she brings a great deal of joy and knows how to put students at their ease with her clear explanations. Liza is a creative teacher who organises art workshops for her students and she also runs a singing club and accompanies her students on guitar.

Philip Lubbuck

Primary Class Teacher

Philip studied for his BA Hons (Education) degree in London and chose science and ICT as his subject specialisms. During this period he taught in a number of London schools and held different roles including subject leader for ICT and mathematics in his home region of East Anglia, England. Since joining the school, he has taught EAL, Year 3 and Year 4. He loves to share his enthusiasm and deep interest in science and other subjects with his students.

Nathalie Lefrançois

Primary Class Teacher

Nathalie has a Master's degree in French as a foreign language and has been trained in communicative and action-based methods. She has 25 years' experience teaching French to children, teenagers and adults. Nathalie is passionate about teaching and is committed to developing each student's potential through active, creative and fun teaching activities.

Marie-Laure Rouillon

Primary Class Teacher

Marie-Laure holds a Bachelor's degree in Arts, Literature and Language with a major in Language Sciences and a Master's degree in Arts, Literature and Language with a major in Linguistics. She began teaching in China in 2007, then went to Tunisia before returning to France. Passing on knowledge, enabling learners to understand the concepts of the language and having access to French literature for inspiration are the foundations of her vocation as a teacher.

James Taylor

Primary Class Teacher

James is from Newcastle upon Tyne in England and received his teaching degree with Honours from Leeds Beckett University, specialising in science. Before joining Open Sky International, he taught in Yorkshire with most of his former students having English as a second language. He also taught for a short period in Nigeria, which gave him a taste for international teaching. He has taught children from two to 16 years old and became a teacher in order to pass on his knowledge to future generations.

Through the years, Caroline has impacted countless students, many of whom have pursued careers that require strong language and communication skills and she remains a passionate advocate for the transformative power of language learning.

Morgane Thebault

She is a passionate and committed teacher specializing in foreign language instruction, with extensive experience in international schools. Holding a Master’s degree in FLE (French as a Foreign Language) and a PGCE from Oxford Brookes University, she currently teaches French, history-geography, and Spanish at Open Sky International, where she also serves as the IT coordinator. Her career path has taken her from France to the UK and Spain, enabling her to develop dynamic teaching approaches tailored to each student’s needs. She is deeply committed to supporting every learner’s progress and creating an inspiring, inclusive educational environment.

As a qualified teacher in both Romania and England, Daniela has over 15 years' experience in teaching and tutoring. She recharges her own energy by teaching mathematics. This passion has been strengthened by the admiration her teachers at school inspired in her and by her own curiosity and understanding of the subject. She designs her lessons with the hope and confidence of passing on her knowledge and enthusiasm to her students.

Marko Grba

Secondary Class Teacher

Marko is a physics and mathematics teacher by profession, a physicist and philosopher by training and a writer in his spare time. He has taught in independent and state schools in the UK and Croatia, and international schools in France, China and Italy. Following his master's degree in physics, he took a further philosophy of science degree at the London School of Economics. Marko makes mathematics, science and philosophy more accessible by writing articles for magazines and giving talks and has published a popular science book on physics. He also writes poetry in Croatian and English.

Grace holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Chemistry, as well as a PGCE from the University of Manchester. With seven years of teaching experience, she has taught the three sciences (physics, chemistry, and biology) up to GCSE and IGCSE levels, supporting students with diverse profiles. She specializes in lesson planning, pastoral care, and exam preparation. Passionate about creating a stimulating learning environment, she fosters both academic and personal development. She became a teacher because she loves inspiring young minds and helping them reach their full potential.

Darren is a business and economics specialist who has taught in secondary education for over 25 years. He was formerly a curriculum leader for 'work related education', when he worked closely with industry to link the academic curriculum with real life businesses. The aim of this was to help students think critically for themselves as current consumers and future employees and entrepreneurs. Darren is also an entrepreneur who has established and run successful companies that support adults to obtain training and qualifications to advance their professional careers.

Lydia tells us that the diversity of the tasks carried out at Open Sky International is what makes the job so attractive - there's not a day when you can get bored!
