A bilingual preschool where your child grows up in two languages, English and French, every day, from age 2, in Boulogne-Billancourt, West Paris. Admission is non-selective, with after-school care in the evening. Places are available mid-year, depending on class numbers.
The Open Sky International bilingual preschool welcomes children aged 2 to 4.5, in the toddler class (TPS) and the Reception classes (PS and MS), on our Boulogne-Billancourt campus in West Paris (Hauts-de-Seine, 92), five minutes from Paris. Families come from Boulogne-Billancourt, Issy-les-Moulineaux, Meudon, Sèvres, Saint-Cloud and the Paris 16th arrondissement.
Admission is open throughout the year, subject to a place being available, after a visit.
Every preschool class lives in two languages, English and French, led by native-speaker adults. At 4.5, your child moves up to Year 1, the first class of primary school, on the same campus and with the same classmates.
At the age of 2, a child makes a language their own through the situations they experience every day, without any visible effort. In our bilingual preschool, English and French are therefore part of the whole day (morning routines, songs, stories, lunch, playtime), with one adult for each language, who speaks only their own. The child associates a language with a person and with particular moments, and switches from one to the other without thinking about it. There are no English lessons in our bilingual preschool. Language is a tool used for learning and for communicating, and it is acquired through experience. Your child's day follows a rhythm of different activities, each with an educational objective, interspersed with periods of play. Your child learns through play without even realising it.
Does your child speak only French, only English, or a third language? That is the case for most children who start at our preschool. Within a few months, they will understand English and French.
